Hi, my name is Kenneth Russell and I love pirates and pirate history. I've always been very interested in what is actual fact and what is myth when it comes to famous pirates.

I decided to build this site to shine some light on that distinction as well as to answer many common questions about pirates. I think when reading through the site you'll find you had many previous misconceptions about what pirates were really like, what they did, how they behaved, and what life on a pirate ship was really like.
